This is a decent option for a good meal in South UT County. It is in the old Pier 49 pizza location and still has a nautical theme to it. They serve Mexican an Seafood according to the sign. I was a little leery to eat at this place in the beginning I must admit. I mean, Mexican and Seafood? The sign might as well have said cupcakes and beer. I love them both but found it a bit odd that they are served at the same place. When you walk in you can smell the seafood. If you are not a fan of the shore you may want to rethink your visit. (Who doesn't love the ocean?) We are always seated pretty quickly. They do get a little busy on Fri and Sat nights. Don't worry too much about that, they have extra seating in the back. I will tell you that I love the Chile Relleno here. You get a choice of cheese (my fav), chicken, beef or pork. Most place only have cheese. The tacos show up to the table crispy, not soggy like they have been sitting in juice waiting around. The beans and rice are well......beans and rice. Our server was okay as well, when he was not watching TV. He only missed our drink refills. The location is a bit old and it is in need of a remodel. I have yet to try any seafood here (still a little hesitant), but will be back to try it, one day. I do like to get take out from here though! One thing I will warn you on, DO NOT PARK IN THE SEGWAY PARKING LOT. No I don't mean we are a bunch of Segway driving fools here, I mean the Segway store. The owner does not have an agreement with them on the parking situation. Park in the street. The Lord of the Segway store will boot your car and have you pay a fine. If you don't he will have you towed. All in all? Good food, good location, decent service, in need of a remodel and crappy parking. I recommend you give it a try if you are in town for a week and are looking for a place to eat on day two or three.

As far as a good meal for a good price, there aren't many restaurants in Utah that can compare with Los 2 Potrillos. I've ordered more than 10 dishes here and they are all very good quality. The chef used to run a restaurant in California and he keeps up with his connections to bring in good quality seafood. The food is never greasy and bursting with flavor. The portions are very generous, and they don't compromise on quality. The only people I've met that don't love this place are people that care more about ambience than what they eat. I don't care about that so I give it a perfect rating.

This is definitely the best Mexican restaurant I have eaten at in Utah. The tacos were fantastic, chili relleno excellent, and the rice and beans incredible. I only wish it were located closer to home. I'll come back any time I'm in Spanish Fork.

I was told by 3 different people to try this place out! So glad I did! Great service, great food! My kids loved it! My wife loved it! So of course I loved it! Taking time to write this review , because it is honestly the best Mexican food in Utah county!!!

We really liked this place! It is an older building, but there is plenty of seating. The server was pleasant and attentive. Best was the food! Lunch prices were reasonable $8-$9. The portions were huge and tasty. The chips were freshly made and what the salsa lacked in chunkiness it made up for in flavor. We will be back.

By far my favorite Mexican restaurant. It's hard to choose what my favorite dish is so I'll list my top three. The molcajete is awesome it comes with your choice of meat which you can choose 1-3 different meats. Steak, chicken or shrimp. Loaded with cheese a delicious sauce and veggies including cactus which reminds me of a green pepper with a bite. Chicken chimichunga, so good it's perfectly fried to a golden brown the chicken inside is so juicy, topped with sour cream, guacamole and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Served with rice and beans simple but duo delicious. They also serve seafood and I love the tostada de ceviche. The only downside is that the service can be great one day and terrible on the next visit but you're really going for the good which is always good.

Love this little hole-in-the wall gem! Tasty, good service, no frills. It's the type of cafe where you see the same gentleman cooking your food every time you visit. Try the breakfast burrito for a Saturday brunch that will hold you over till the next day! Huge portions. Also love the ceviche and shrimp fajitas.

This is the my favorite place for Mexican not only in Spanish Fork but for Utah County. Great prices, and the food is even better, be sure to try the tostada de ceviche, the suisa enchiladas and my personal favorite the chicken Chimichunga. The service is really the only downfall at times it can be great and then the next visit is bad, But the delicious food makes up for the spotty service any day.

This place was recommended by friends. Great little family restaurant with tasty food and great service. I usually get the kitchen sink burrito, which is HUGE and loaded with lots of meat. The seafood dishes are also good and they don't skimp on the shrimp.

Great Mexican food. My favorites are the grilled fish tacos, burritos and tortas. The portions are always huge and the quality is great. Their chips and salsa are the best! It has become a favorite lunch spot as well as for late night taco runs. Best Mexican in Spanish Fork by far and maybe the valley. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Tried this place tonight after reading reviews on Yelp. It was everything the other reviewers made it out to be... great food, reasonable prices, good service. My wife and I split the two meat molecajete, and it was more than enough for both of us. My teenage son had a chimichanga and beef enchilada... I think it's there first time I've seen him full all month. If you like Mexican food, you might as well give it a try. I know I'll be back.

Service is good, Spanish speaking staff and cooks which is a good indicator for an authentic Mexican restaurant. Food is great at reasonable prices. They don't serve alcohol or coffee, at owners religious preference.

This place was a little divey but from my experience some divey places are the best. We got the kitchen sink burrito which pretty much has everything in it. It was good but nothing to write home about. Would possibly go again.

Great food with big portions. The salsa is fantastic! My wife and I stop in and get a large salsa to go for a great late night snack.

Whenever I am craving Mexican, this is my go to. Chips and Salsa are divine. Chips are perfect crispness. Salsa is zesty and fresh. We normally go for the California Burrito (steak, potatoe, guacamole) which is HUGE. We can easily split it. Service is good. Very popular place for locals. Not the best Mexican food I've ever had but definitely satisfies the craving for a great price. :)

I've been here countless times I would suggest bringing someone that knows Spanish dishes well but for starters their sopes are amazing! And then their meatball soup will blow your mind!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
